Rao Qing was born in 1971 and is an architect.
He graduated from Wuhan University of Technology with a major in architecture in 1994.
In 2001, he founded RA Architects (RA Architecture Co., Ltd.) and has been the chief architect ever since.
From 1997 to 2001, he was the lead guitarist of the famous Shanghai BLUES band “12 Bars”.
In 2015, Mr. Rao Qing led RA Architects to design the Shanghai luxury house project- ONE PARK GUBEI, which won the “Asia’s Best Property Award” jointly organized by Ensign Media (Singapore) Pte Ltd and the famous architectural design magazine “Perspective Magazine”.
In recent years, he has been committed to the design and research of China’s top luxury houses. The completed projects such as Shanghai ONE PARK GUBEI and RoyalPavilion have become benchmarks in the industry.
In 2007, Rao Qing and his company partners founded an independent fashion brand “Content”, which continued to gain inspiration from the crossover between architecture and fashion.
As the show director of the brand, Mr. Rao Qing cooperated with different artists to direct multiple Content Shanghai Fashion Week fashion shows, which attracted widespread attention in the industry. Based on the above space as a template, Rao Qing shot and produced a large number of video works, practicing the design concept of video intervention space and intervention fashion.
In 2012, Rao Qing founded Fuer Culture & Entertainment Co., Ltd., and opened CHAIRCLUB, Shanghai’s most authentic Livehouse promoting BLUES music, which quickly gained influence in this field.
In 2013, RA Architects initiated and jointly established 1778 ART UNION with a group of young Shanghai artists and photographers, further expanding its business to various fields such as art, culture and music.
On October 26, 2013, he planned the “Out of Rail” cross-border art event jointly held by 1778 ARTUNION and “Bazaar Art”, which received a huge response.
